Design without limits with Website Builder Elementor

When I create your website in Wordpress, I use the website builder The Elementor to be able to design it the way I want it.

You can download Elementor as a plugin, and use it for free, but if you want more control and the ability to be able to create theme and design templates, you will have to upgrade to the paid version.

Over 80 widgets

Elementor has bitten very popular and now comes in over 50 different languages. They have developed over 80 design elements/widgets which you can use to develop and design your website. And, since it is made for Wordpress, there are of course a number of plugins you can download to get more widgets. If you know PHP, you can even build your own widgets.

Elementor is compatible with most Wordpress templates, but they have also created their own design templates, such as HELLO, which are made specifically for Elementor and do not contain unnecessary styling that one has no need for. With HELLO, you can build your website from scratch if you want.

Drag and drop

Elementor is a drag and drop module, where you insert sections and columns, and then drag widgets to where you want them. Each widget has its own set of styling, feature, and animation choices, and you can style for mobile and board at the same time. And, if you don't want to have to customize so much yourself, Elementor also offers pre-styled widgets that you add with just a click. Of course, these can also be changed if you want them a little differently.

Create your own templates

Once you have created a section with widgets and styling, you can save it as a template, so you can use it again. These templates are independent of each other, so if you change on one page, the others remain as they are.

You can also create global templates where it is updated wherever it is inserted, if you change it.

In the Pro version, you can also create theme templates such as header, footer and page templates, and decide which pages the template applies to. This is an advantage as you can have multiple sets of pages, each with its own design, as well as not having to edit each page if you were to change a bit on e.g. the header.

If you're going to create an online store, Elementor gives you the ability to create templates for categories and products, and has a number of widgets designed specifically for Woocommerce. It gives you complete freedom to style your online store the way you want.

Popups

There are enough divided opinions on whether popups are beneficial to use or if they are an annoyance, but I suppose that is determined by how it works in conjunction with the website it is made for and what it conveys, as well as the fact that one pops with sense.

Either way, Elementor pro gives you the freedom to design your own popups from scratch. If you don't want to design one yourself, you have over 100 popup templates you can choose from and customize as you like.

You can decide which pages to pop on and actually detail it to apply e.g. only to posts in a special category, or to a particular product.

What and when triggers the popup can also be controlled in detail and you can target it to a specific group of visitors.

Woocommerce

As mentioned earlier, Elementor has created a bunch of widgets specifically for Woocommerce. So say goodbye to regide store pages where there is minimal opportunity for styling. Elementor gives you complete freedom to style all pages as you like. You can create specific theme templates for product categories, information pages, products etc.

Some pages, such as shopping cart and checkout are occasionally controlled by the payment solution you choose. Klarna e.g. uses its own shopping cart and checkout pages. You can create your own, but I recommend that you use the pages of the payment solution so that the purchase process works properly.

Supporto

Elementor has a plethora of user guides, videos and information on how to use and get the most out of Elementor. They also have a forum where you can get extra help from others who use Elementor.

For most of the widgets you can go directly to information about the current widget from the design view, however, the explanation of the predefined features on these pages is somewhat lacking.

Are you a Pro customer, you can contact support directly 24/7, and they are quick to respond and to follow up.

Elementor also has a blog, and you get the latest posts by email, so you are constantly updated on what is happening at Elementor as well as a plethora of great tips and articles.
